You can't do it on your own!
After our first year, which was successful, but a bit hit and miss in some ways, our second year was a bit more organised! Working with 8 partners across the country, and manned by 4 volunteers, we managed to arrange that 930 beanies and scarves, or their equivalent, found their way the the Homeless. We were going to end the campaign last February. It's hard for the volunteers, they get emotionally involved, as most are either homeless or ex-homeless - and they felt totally drained. But our followers kept us going.
We are very lucky that everyone is so motivated for us!
In June we had discussions with the current volunteers, and started to make approaches to outreach organisations across the countries to set up our Partner network for the coming winter. One of our volunteers suggested that we keep the sales page going, and donate essentials to a "Partner of the Month" So far over £65 has gone to York Road Project in Woking, £50 to Simon Community in Northern Ireland, and we are already up to £64 for One Big Family HTH for Chatham and London outreach and only half way through the month!
