It's Saturday… So it's time to introduce Simon Community in Northern Ireland

So much to do!

Just like in the rest of the UK the numbers of homeless in Northern Ireland is rising fast.  And, with 5 deaths in Belfast amongst the homeless population this year alone, help and support are desperately needed.  Simon Community work hard to provide at least some of the answers to what is a very difficult challenge.

Claire Andrews steps forward to tell you about them…

Established in 1971 in response to a homelessness crisis in Belfast, Simon Community has grown to become Northern Ireland’s leading homelessness charity and service provider.
From a beginning of just one house, two full time staff and a few volunteers in Belfast, Simon Community NI now accommodates up to 3000 people every year across 22 projects throughout Northern Ireland with a staff count of 300 and 50 volunteers.
We answer almost 30,000 calls annually to our 24/7 free phone helpline and we provide dedicated services for young people, families, people struggling with mental ill health and addictions, and ex-offenders.
We work without prejudice to support people who are, or are at risk of, becoming homeless.
Our vision is a word without homelessness and we aim to support those experiencing it to achieve a meaningful and independent place in their community.

Thank you Claire.

And that has introduced all of our 6 Partners.
On Twitter they are

@YorkRoadProject
@SimonCommNI
@onebigfamilyHTH
@simonotstreets
@llamauUK
@Wolveshomeless

On October 10th we in Beanie cellars start our winter campaign.  For every scarf, beanie hat or duffle bag bought through our Twitter link, one goes to the homeless via our Partners.  As well as this £2 for every other sale will buy essentials that we will share with our street outreach friends.
The link is below

And… you always know, we couldn't do what we do without your amazing help and support.  Both for us at Beanies, and with our friends out on the street.  Thank you!
